Three Books to Chill Your Bones [Paperback compilation]

I heard they were making a Scary Stories movie, and that lead me down a rabbit hole of nostalgia. I also heard that some of the newer editions of these books do not have Stephen Gammell's disturbing but amazing artwork and instead feature a different artist whose work isn't as chilling. This compilation is definitely worth buying since it contains three books and still has the original artwork. Reading this stories again as an adult, I realize that they are not really as scary as I thought they were over 10 years ago, but the artwork is still super creepy.

I read these books when I was younger all the time! Like many, I was disappointed to find that they changed the art work. This treasury comes with all three books and is exactly how I remember the books to be! Original pictures and all. Really good condition and great price. The delivery was fast, too!

Great book (or collection of books, rather). The original artwork is a must! A lot of these stories are far less scary as an adult, but still hold all their nostalgic value. The children in the family are sure to be entertained with these stories and this artwork!

As described. Corners were a bit damaged during shipping (wasn't tightly packed) but I don't mind, it's what's inside that counts :D
Some of the stories seem to be out of order in the Treasury vs. the original trilogy of books. I'm not sure why, and it doesn't matter to me as long as they're all there, but for the OCD crowd there's your FYI.

Extremely pleased that this treasury included original artwork! I had been searching for a while and always tentative to order online as I didn't want the stories to be tainted by the new artwork. Much happy! So nostalgia.

Great book and good stories, though illustrations may be a bit too scary for younger kids - at least that's what one mother with an 8 year old told me. I hadn't even thought of that aspect - I think the sories by themselves are just fine, though for that age.

Bought this on a whim when I saw it at a store, then saw this on the store and realized they had a less creepy version out now and had to do more research to make sure i got this one and its the original artwork so im happy, if you dont like it buy the newer copy so you can keep your kids sheltered, but if you care for nostalgia this is the one.

The Scary Stories collection just isn't worth the purchase unless it's paired with the original artwork. The art absolutely defined the trilogy, and if you want to properly relive the nostalgia (or introduce your kids to the world of horror media), the best possible purchase you could make would be this collection right here.
